Juvan Elisma. 💜 We love a good male romantic lead, and “Ugly Sweater” had two of them. Kind hearted, great style, and a whole lot of fun; we are blessed to have cast Juvan in this beautiful art film. He is a phenomenal actor and always has a great attitude. In 2019 Juvan took his first acting class, following a dream. A spark which ignited his creative passion. He received his first speaking role in the film “Godmothered,” which can be viewed on Disney+. And circled back to Disney+, playing the character Alex, in “Hocus Pocus 2.” Juvan says one of his proudest accomplishments was acting opposite Emma Roberts in the film “About Fate” on Amazon Prime. More recently, our supporting male lead appeared in a co-starring role in the most recent season of the CW’s “All American.” (Season 6 Episode 5) He also did some stand-in acting work for Kel Mitchell on “Good Burger 2.” Juvan says that his time as a stand-in really helped him learn more about the business. When he is not acting Juvan can be found training with Anthony Meindl of AMAW studios. He is proud of his faith and stands up for his values. We are so grateful to have Juvan in this film and on our team. I cannot wait to see where he goes from here. 10/10 would cast Juvan in another Purple Magnet Production. Thank you @gigharborfilm festival for a fabulous experience! 🏔️🍿✨ Traveling (mostly) alone for this one, I was encouraged to make new connections and even - friendships! 💜 I was pleasantly surprised to see some old faces, too, solidifying my love for the indie film community. It was a special experience making mountain cabin-like memories with very cool film artists, and then seeing pieces of their hearts in a beautiful (and comfortable) movie theater, and sharing my own as well. The spirit is strong with this one. Meet Christian Cibotti - aka “Dad!” 🙋🏼‍♂️ I knew I wanted the character of Mark - Ruby’s dad - to be full of genuine care, comedic relief, and mostly be a rock for his family (and the ambitious women in it) but not without his own moments of sweet vulnerability - much like my own dad. 🫶 Christian’s very first self-tape had me sold on ALL of those traits. Then he brought in his Boston attitude and personal faith to craft a realistic, emotionally tugging, and well-rounded character. We are so lucky to have cast him! Christian has worked on over 60 feature films. “The Clockmaker” and “Deportation” are currently streaming on Amazon Prime and Tubi, and “Pop the Pickel” has just entered the festival circuit. He also had a 20-year run performing in several live theatrical productions, including Joey and Maria’s Comedy Italian Wedding. His experience includes television, voice over, and commercials as well. A multi-talented working actor based in Massachusetts! We loved our local talent! ❄️ Thank you Christian for effortlessly bringing Mark to life, and for being willing to improvise and take on challenges on set with grace! In UGLY SWEATER, she plays a strong, loving mother and newscaster, a role that beautifully showcases her depth and resilience.
